Granville Brooks was born in 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He became interested in magic in magic at the age of eight. "Back in those days I studied Harry Blackstone's books. I was unable to buy tricks so I made my own. The first trick I made was a key trick."

In 1957 Mr. Brooks moved to Wichita, Kansas. He stated that in Wichita he found his magic heaven in a shop on east Douglas...Steven's Magic Emporium. That was the year he started working on his own clown magic show and the character "Magic Bubba" was born. He loves all the magicians in Las Vegas and his favorites are Lance Burton, David Copperfield, and Joe Stevens.

Joe Stevens calls Granville "Wichita's Premier Black Magician. Granville recently joined the I.B.M. and is excited about joining the Wizards of Wichita in June of 2002.
